Which companies sponsor visas for procurement roles in Wisconsin?
Established Wisconsin employers with procurement functions and documented H-1B visa sponsorship histories include Oshkosh Corporation, Kohler Co., Harley-Davidson, Advocate Aurora Health, and SC Johnson. These organizations maintain ongoing supply chain and strategic sourcing teams large enough to justify sponsorship. Smaller manufacturers in the Fox Valley and southeastern Wisconsin corridors also sponsor, though less frequently than large multinationals.
Which visa types are most common for procurement roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for procurement professionals in Wisconsin, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding TN visa status (Canadian or Mexican nationals) can also transition into procurement roles. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories are relevant for those pursuing permanent residence through employer sponsorship.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most procurement sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee leads the state for procurement sponsorship activity, anchored by its concentration of manufacturing, healthcare, and financial services employers. Madison follows, driven by the University of Wisconsin system, state government suppliers, and a growing technology sector. Green Bay and Appleton in the Fox Valley corridor are strong secondary markets given the region's dense manufacturing and paper products industry, both of which require active sourcing and supply chain teams.
How to find procurement visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search procurement roles in Wisconsin without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. The platform covers titles like strategic sourcing analyst, purchasing manager, and contract administrator. Filtering by Wisconsin state alongside procurement-related keywords surfaces employers actively hiring and open to sponsorship across Milwaukee, Madison, and the Fox Valley region.
Are there state-specific factors that affect procurement sponsorship hiring in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin's manufacturing-heavy economy means many procurement roles are tied to industrial and automotive supply chains, where degree requirements in engineering or operations management strengthen H-1B specialty occupation eligibility. The University of Wisconsin-Madison produces a steady pipeline of supply chain graduates, which familiarizes local employers with international student hiring and OPT-to-H-1B transitions. Prevailing wage requirements apply statewide and are determined by the Department of Labor's wage data for each specific role and location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
