Which companies in Utah sponsor visas for procurement roles?
Intermountain Health, University of Utah Health, Overstock (now Bed Bath & Beyond), Domo, and Northrop Grumman's Utah operations have all sponsored procurement and supply chain professionals for H-1B visas. Utah's defense manufacturing base and growing tech sector add additional employers. Sponsorship is never guaranteed, but larger healthcare systems and technology firms tend to have established HR infrastructure to support the process.
What visa types are most common for procurement professionals in Utah?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for procurement roles in Utah, particularly for positions like strategic sourcing manager, contracts analyst, and supply chain analyst that require a relevant bachelor's degree. Candidates from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status under the NAFTA/USMCA treaty, as procurement roles can fit within the management consultant or engineer categories depending on the specific job duties.
Which cities in Utah have the most procurement visa sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the largest share of procurement sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by its concentration of healthcare systems, financial services firms, and government contractors. Lehi and Provo in Utah County are secondary hubs, particularly for tech-adjacent sourcing and vendor management roles. Ogden also has procurement opportunities tied to aerospace and defense manufacturing, including Hill Air Force Base's contractor ecosystem.
How to find procurement visa sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find procurement roles in Utah where employers are open to visa sponsorship, with listings filtered specifically for international candidates. Beyond job searching, reviewing OFLC disclosure data on the Department of Labor's website shows which Utah employers have filed Labor Condition Applications for procurement job titles, giving you a verifiable picture of which companies have sponsored similar roles previously.
Are there state-specific considerations for procurement sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Utah's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B procurement roles are determined by the Department of Labor using Salt Lake City and Provo metropolitan area data, which typically reflects lower wage floors than coastal markets. Utah's universities, particularly the University of Utah and Brigham Young University, produce supply chain graduates who sometimes transition from OPT into full H-1B sponsorship, meaning employers in the state have some familiarity with the international hiring process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
