Which companies sponsor visas for procurement roles in Indiana?
Indiana's largest industrial and pharmaceutical employers are among the most active sponsors for procurement professionals. Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, Cummins Inc. in Columbus, and Rolls-Royce in Indianapolis have histories of sponsoring H-1B workers in supply chain and sourcing functions. Steel Dynamics, Zimmer Biomet, and Subaru of Indiana Automotive also hire procurement talent and have filed Labor Condition Applications for related roles.
Which visa types are most common for procurement roles in Indiana?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for procurement professionals in Indiana, particularly for roles like strategic sourcing analyst, supply chain manager, and procurement operations specialist that require a relevant bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or engineering. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying business or engineering classifications. EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas are also pursued by employers sponsoring long-term hires.
Which cities in Indiana have the most procurement sponsorship jobs?
Indianapolis is Indiana's primary hub for procurement sponsorship jobs, driven by its concentration of pharmaceutical, defense, and manufacturing headquarters. Columbus is a secondary market, anchored by Cummins and its extensive supplier network. Fort Wayne has procurement activity tied to its automotive and manufacturing base, and Lafayette benefits from Subaru's manufacturing presence. Most multi-year H-1B procurement filings in Indiana originate from the Indianapolis metropolitan area.
How to find procurement visa sponsorship jobs in Indiana?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters procurement roles in Indiana by visa sponsorship availability, so you're not sorting through postings from employers who won't sponsor. The platform surfaces positions from companies with documented sponsorship histories in supply chain, sourcing, and purchasing functions across Indiana. Filtering by state and role category on Migrate Mate saves significant time compared to searching general job boards.
Are there any Indiana-specific factors that affect procurement visa sponsorship?
Indiana's manufacturing and life sciences sectors drive procurement hiring, meaning many sponsored roles require industry-specific knowledge in areas like GMP compliance, automotive supply chains, or defense procurement. Purdue University and Indiana University produce a pipeline of supply chain graduates, so entry-level competition can be strong. Employers in Indiana must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the specific occupation and metropolitan statistical area when filing an H-1B Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement jobs in Indiana?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
