Which companies sponsor visas for project superintendents in Texas?
Large general contractors and engineering firms with a significant Texas presence are the most consistent sponsors. Companies like Fluor, Jacobs, Zachry Group, Turner Construction, and Kiewit have filed H-1B and other work visa petitions for construction management roles. These firms operate on large-scale industrial, energy, and infrastructure projects in Texas where finding qualified candidates domestically can be competitive.
Which visa types are most common for project superintendent roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most commonly used visa for project superintendents, but the role must qualify as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a closely related field. Some candidates also enter on TN visas if they hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship. EB-3 immigrant visa sponsorship is possible for longer-term placements, typically initiated after an H-1B period.
Which cities in Texas have the most project superintendent sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads the state given its concentration of energy, petrochemical, and industrial construction. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, driven by commercial real estate development and infrastructure expansion. San Antonio has a growing market tied to military base construction and healthcare facilities. Austin's rapid commercial and mixed-use development has also increased demand for experienced superintendents in recent years.
How to find project superintendent visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters project superintendent roles in Texas by visa sponsorship willingness, so you're not sorting through listings that won't support a work visa. Search by Texas city or region to find active openings with contractors and engineering firms. Creating a profile also helps match you to relevant superintendent roles as new positions are posted.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for project superintendents seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how prevailing wage calculations compare to other states. The Department of Labor sets prevailing wage requirements by county, so a project in Harris County may differ from one in a rural area. Texas's volume of federally funded infrastructure work means some projects fall under Davis-Bacon wage rules, which employers must account for when filing a Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project superintendent jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
