Which companies sponsor visas for quality assurance engineers in Texas?
Texas Instruments, Dell Technologies, NXP Semiconductors, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and AT&T are among the Texas-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship history for quality assurance roles. Defense contractors such as Lockheed Martin and Raytheon, which have significant Texas operations, also sponsor QA engineers. Healthcare technology companies in the Austin and Dallas corridors have become increasingly active sponsors as well.
Which visa types are most common for quality assurance engineer roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for quality assurance engineers in Texas, as the role generally qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Some employers also sponsor through the EB-2 or EB-3 employment-based green card pathways for longer-term hires. TN status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering roles.
Which cities in Texas have the most quality assurance engineer sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads in QA engineer sponsorship activity, driven by its dense concentration of semiconductor, software, and hardware companies. Dallas and its northern suburbs, including Plano and Richardson, host major telecommunications and enterprise technology employers. Houston is a hub for energy technology and medical device QA roles, while San Antonio has a growing cybersecurity and defense QA presence tied to military installations.
How to find quality assurance engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters quality assurance engineer roles in Texas by visa sponsorship availability, so you are not sorting through listings that will not support work authorization. The platform surfaces employers with verified sponsorship histories in the QA space, which is especially useful in Texas given how many roles are concentrated across multiple distinct industry sectors.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for quality assurance engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage calculations employers submit to the Department of Labor when filing a Labor Condition Application. The state's large engineering university pipeline, including graduates from UT Austin, Texas A&M, and UT Dallas, means QA roles attract strong local competition alongside international candidates. Defense-related QA positions in Texas may also require security clearances, which can limit sponsorship eligibility for foreign nationals.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored quality assurance engineer jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
