Which companies sponsor visas for radiologists in Texas?
Large hospital systems and academic medical centers are the most active sponsors. HCA Healthcare, Baylor Scott and White Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Houston Methodist, and Texas Children's Hospital have documented histories of sponsoring international radiologists. Radiology-specific physician groups and teleradiology companies operating in Texas also file sponsorship petitions, particularly for subspecialists in neuroradiology, interventional radiology, and breast imaging.
Which visa types are most common for radiologist roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for radiologists in Texas, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. J-1 visas are also widely used for residents and fellows completing training at Texas academic medical centers. Some radiologists transition from J-1 to H-1B after completing their fellowship. Canadian and Mexican radiologists may also qualify under the TN visa category.
Which cities in Texas have the most radiologist sponsorship jobs?
Houston leads in radiologist sponsorship volume, driven by the Texas Medical Center, one of the largest medical complexes in the world. Dallas and Fort Worth follow, anchored by UT Southwestern, Baylor Scott and White, and several large private hospital networks. San Antonio, home to University Health and the South Texas Veterans Health Care System, also generates consistent sponsorship activity. Austin is an emerging market as its healthcare infrastructure expands.
How to find radiologist visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters radiologist roles in Texas by sponsorship history and visa type. Searching on Migrate Mate lets you identify which Texas employers have actively sponsored radiologists rather than applying broadly and discovering late in the process that sponsorship isn't available. Filtering by subspecialty and location narrows results to positions that match your training background.
Are there state-specific considerations for radiologists seeking sponsorship in Texas?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects how employers and candidates structure compensation discussions, though prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B still apply and are determined by the Department of Labor based on the metropolitan statistical area. Texas also has a large J-1 waiver program through the Texas Department of State Health Services, which can help J-1 physicians, including radiologists, transition to work authorization in medically underserved areas of the state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored radiologist jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
