Which companies sponsor visas for user experience designers in Texas?
Large technology and enterprise companies in Texas with a track record of H-1B sponsorship for UX roles include Dell Technologies, AT&T, Texas Instruments, and Amazon (with substantial operations in Austin and Dallas). Healthcare systems like HCA Healthcare and financial firms such as Charles Schwab, headquartered in Westlake, also hire UX designers and have sponsored work visas for international candidates.
Which visa types are most common for user experience design roles in Texas?
The H-1B is the most common visa for user experience design roles in Texas, as UX positions typically qualify as specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as human-computer interaction, design, or computer science. Australian citizens may also pursue the E-3 visa. Candidates already holding L-1 status through a multinational employer transfer are another segment seen in Texas UX hiring.
Which cities in Texas have the most user experience design sponsorship jobs?
Austin leads Texas for UX design sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of tech companies, startups, and offices from firms like Apple, Google, and Oracle. Dallas-Fort Worth follows closely, with strong demand from enterprise software, fintech, and telecom employers. Houston has a growing UX presence tied to energy tech, healthcare systems, and aerospace, making it a secondary but meaningful market for international UX candidates.
How to find user experience design visa sponsorship jobs in Texas?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters user experience design roles by sponsorship history, so you can focus on Texas employers who have actually sponsored visas rather than applying broadly and hoping. Searching by city lets you target Austin, Dallas, or Houston based on where your preferred employers or industries are concentrated. Setting up alerts means new UX sponsorship postings in Texas reach you without manual searching.
Are there any Texas-specific considerations for UX designers seeking visa sponsorship?
Texas has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage comparisons since DOL wage determinations are based on the metropolitan area, not state tax treatment. Austin's tech boom has pushed UX prevailing wages upward in that metro, which employers must meet when filing a Labor Condition Application. University of Texas at Austin and UT Dallas produce strong UX and HCI talent pipelines, so employers in those metros are generally experienced with international candidate hiring processes.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored user experience design jobs in Texas?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
