Which companies sponsor visas for user experience design roles in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, Adobe, Expedia, and Salesforce are among the most active H-1B visa sponsors for UX roles in Washington, with a strong concentration in Seattle and Bellevue. Boeing and Providence Health also hire UX designers and have sponsored visas previously. Washington's density of large tech employers makes it one of the more active states for UX sponsorship overall.
Which visa types are most common for user experience design roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for UX designers in Washington because the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Candidates with extraordinary recognition in the field may qualify for an O-1A. Australians working in UX can also pursue the E-3 visa, which has no annual lottery and is generally easier to obtain.
Which cities in Washington have the most user experience design sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the largest share of UX sponsorship jobs in Washington, driven by its concentration of tech headquarters and product companies. Bellevue and Redmond are close behind, largely due to Microsoft's campus in Redmond and Amazon's Bellevue expansion. Smaller but growing clusters exist in Kirkland and Bothell, particularly among mid-size software and healthcare technology companies.
How to find user experience design visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship roles, and you can filter directly by state and job category to surface UX design positions in Washington. Because many employers don't advertise sponsorship explicitly in job postings, Migrate Mate cross-references employer H-1B filing history to identify companies that have sponsored UX roles before, saving significant research time.
Are there state-specific considerations for UX designers seeking sponsorship in Washington?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure compensation packages relative to prevailing wage requirements under the H-1B program. UX design roles in Washington frequently draw candidates from university programs at the University of Washington, which has a well-regarded Human Centered Design and Engineering department, creating a competitive pipeline that international candidates should factor into their job search timing.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored user experience design jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
