We have high standards and strive to continuously raise the bar across all creative elements.
The Creative Program Manager will own the day-to-day execution and project management of the most strategic creative projects supporting high-profile, high-impact business initiatives. They will have a solid understanding of creative workflows and the interdependencies that pertain to the studio's program area, with an ability to evaluate and document scalable mechanisms to increase efficiency and frugality. They are a key partner to the Creative Garage team and clients, responsible for building effective working relationships and ensuring the right people are part of the conversation. They drive cross-functional alignment across business partners and external agencies, working independently while seeking guidance as needed. They demonstrate strong ownership and bias for action, sound problem solving, and maintain clear and concise communication across stakeholders. They will develop a strong knowledge of Amazon and Amazon Transportation products. They are nimble and agile—able to flex across project management, resource coordination, and program reporting.
This role partners with the manager and other teams to deliver complex, cross-functional creative projects aligned with team goals. They focus on the larger business picture—customer experience, processes, opportunities—and take the time to understand relevant business requirements. They proactively mitigate risks, manage schedules, keep scope under control, and help teams make trade-offs by considering the broader context (e.g., customer experience, financial goals, brand, compliance, workflow dependencies, quality, efficiency). They are comfortable operating in ambiguity and productively challenge assumptions to drive the right outcomes.
Key job responsibilities

- Build and manage workback schedules, with a deep understanding of dependencies from both marketing and creative playbooks. Meet timelines and minimize disruption to partner teams, especially during peak efforts. Include buffer time, plan for the unexpected, and ensure dependencies are not broken by changes.

- Apply process improvement methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean, Kaizen, CIP) to continuously improve team productivity and throughput.
- Identify and document tool and process innovations that systematically improve studio efficiency, output, and overall quality of the work.
- Build relationships with client partners and peers. Educate business partners on studio process and SLAs, understand their pain points and objectives, and consult on potential solutions.

- Present studio work and updates to stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including management.
- Build trust, respect, and credibility with stakeholders and team members.
- Employ sound critical thinking and problem-solving approaches; come to the table with solutions.

- Promote a sense of transparency, visibility, and community among the team.

Which companies in Washington sponsor visas for creative designers?
Amazon and Microsoft are among the most active sponsors for creative designers in Washington, with large brand, marketing, and product design teams in the Seattle area. Expedia, Adobe, Bungie, and Valve also have established design functions and histories of sponsoring H-1B visa and other work visas. Smaller Seattle-based startups and agencies sponsor less frequently but do participate.
Which visa types are most common for creative designer roles in Washington?
The H-1B is the most common visa for creative designers in Washington, provided the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as graphic design, visual communication, or interaction design. The O-1A is an option for designers with recognized awards or notable published work. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN visa status under the 'graphic designer' USMCA category.
How to find creative designer visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship willingness, making it easier to identify creative designer roles in Washington without sorting through positions that won't support international candidates. You can narrow results to Washington state and focus on employers with documented sponsorship histories across product, brand, and UX design disciplines, saving significant time in the job search process.
Which cities in Washington have the most creative designer sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the large majority of creative designer sponsorship opportunities in Washington, driven by its concentration of major tech and e-commerce employers. Bellevue and Redmond are also active, hosting Microsoft's main campus and numerous tech-adjacent companies. Kirkland has a growing gaming and tech presence. Outside the Puget Sound metro, sponsorship opportunities for creative designers are limited.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for creative designers pursuing visa sponsorship?
Washington's tech-heavy economy means creative designer roles are often tied to product and UX work rather than traditional advertising or print, which affects how employers frame specialty occupation requirements for H-1B petitions. The state has no income tax, which matters for compensation planning. University of Washington and Seattle-based design programs supply a strong local talent pipeline, meaning international candidates benefit from positioning experience with well-known brands or recognized design portfolios.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored creative designer jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
