This role is a 3-month contract and will play a critical part in defining and executing the long-term product strategy for store reporting experiences, while driving delivery across complex, cross-functional initiatives within a highly matrixed environment.
The ideal candidate is both strategic and execution-oriented, capable of shaping a 1–3 year product vision while also driving day-to-day delivery, stakeholder alignment, and measurable business impact. This individual should possess strong technical fluency in modern BI and analytics ecosystems, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to engage confidently with stakeholders ranging from engineering teams to VP-level leadership.
Responsibilities
- Own and define the multi-year vision and roadmap for store reporting and analytics capabilities, evolving from traditional reporting toward intelligent, proactive, next-best-action experiences.
- Lead the transformation of fragmented, desktop-bound reporting environments into scalable, role-based, device-agnostic analytics experiences delivered through phased strategic initiatives.
- Maintain momentum on enterprise metric definition, governance, and certification efforts across reporting domains.
- Serve as the product voice in architectural, analytics, and data governance discussions.
- Balance long-term strategic planning with near-term delivery priorities aligned to business objectives.
Delivery & Execution
- Drive delivery across active product initiatives, enhancements, and operational optimizations.
- Independently write detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog requirements across multiple domain dependencies.
- Maintain and prioritize a refined product backlog based on user impact, business value, technical complexity, and engineering effort.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, cross-functional dependencies, and sequencing tradeoffs while escalating recommendations when appropriate.
- Define and monitor success metrics for launched capabilities, leveraging telemetry, analytics, and user feedback to drive roadmap adjustments and continuous improvement.
- Partner closely with Engineering leadership on scope definition, sequencing, sprint planning, and execution alignment.
User Research & Customer Insights
- Lead discovery efforts independently across store operations stakeholders including store leaders, department managers, and sellers.
- Synthesize qualitative and quantitative research findings into actionable product opportunities and prioritization decisions.
- Demonstrate strong empathy and understanding of end-user operational workflows and pain points.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Drive alignment across Engineering, Analytics, Data, Store Operations, and executive leadership stakeholders.
- Facilitate technical discussions while translating complex concepts into clear business outcomes for leadership audiences.
- Communicate effectively across all organizational levels, including Director and VP stakeholders.
- Influence roadmap decisions across cross-functional teams without relying on direct authority.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of Product Management experience with demonstrated ownership of a product domain end-to-end at a Senior PM level.
- Experience with enterprise BI and reporting platforms, particularly Looker, and modern cloud data ecosystems such as GCP and BigQuery.
- Strong understanding of dashboard configuration, reporting frameworks, analytics tooling, and data visualization best practices.
- Experience leading platform migration or consolidation initiatives, including stakeholder alignment, legacy deprecation, and organizational change management.
- Strong foundational knowledge of data governance concepts including metric certification, semantic layers, data ownership models, and producer/consumer data relationships.
- Technical fluency in SQL, data warehousing, analytics engineering concepts, and data pipelines sufficient to engage credibly with engineering teams on technical tradeoffs and solution design.
- Proven ability to operate independently within ambiguous, fast-paced, matrixed environments.
- Exceptional written, verbal, and executive communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience partnering across multiple business and technical domains.
- Experience within retail, store operations, workforce management, or omni-channel environments.
- Familiarity with conversational analytics, agentic AI, or LLM-powered product experiences.

Which companies sponsor visas for data product managers in Washington?
Microsoft, Amazon, and Google are among the most consistent sponsors for data product manager roles in Washington, with large product and data organizations across Seattle, Bellevue, and Redmond. Salesforce, Tableau, Zillow, and Expedia also have established data product teams in the state. Sponsorship activity is concentrated in enterprise tech, e-commerce, and cloud infrastructure companies with recurring immigration needs.
Which visa types are most common for data product manager roles in Washington?
The H-1B visa is the most common visa for data product managers in Washington, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as computer science, information systems, or engineering. Candidates already in the U.S. on F-1 OPT or STEM OPT may begin working before H-1B visa approval. The L-1A and L-1B are also used when candidates transfer from a company's overseas office to a Washington location.
How to find data product manager visa sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it easier to identify data product manager roles in Washington where employers have an active history of sponsoring candidates. Rather than sorting through general job boards, you can search within Migrate Mate to surface Washington-based postings from companies known to sponsor, saving significant time in your search.
Which cities in Washington have the most data product manager sponsorship jobs?
Seattle accounts for the largest concentration of data product manager sponsorship jobs in Washington, followed closely by Bellevue and Redmond. Kirkland hosts Microsoft and a cluster of mid-size tech firms with active data product hiring. Smaller but growing pockets of sponsorship activity exist in Bothell and Issaquah, particularly within healthcare technology and enterprise software companies operating in those corridors.
Are there state-specific considerations for data product managers pursuing sponsorship in Washington?
Washington has no state income tax, which affects how employers structure total compensation packages relative to prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules. The state's dense concentration of large tech employers means H-1B dependency thresholds and associated attestation requirements apply to many hiring companies. Washington's university pipeline, particularly from the University of Washington, also means employers in the region have established processes for sponsoring new graduates into data product roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data product manager jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
