Which companies in Wisconsin sponsor visas for data science managers?
Several Wisconsin employers have a documented history of H-1B sponsorship for data science roles. American Family Insurance in Madison, Epic Systems in Verona, Exact Sciences in Madison, and Rockwell Automation in Milwaukee are among the larger employers in this space. Healthcare systems such as UW Health and Froedtert Health also hire data science managers and have sponsored visas for technical leadership roles.
Which visa types are most common for data science manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is by far the most common visa category for data science managers in Wisconsin. The role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation given the degree requirement in computer science, statistics, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A status through multinational employers may also transfer into data science manager roles, and O-1A petitions are occasionally used for candidates with exceptional research records.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most data science manager sponsorship jobs?
Madison and Milwaukee account for the large majority of data science manager sponsorship activity in Wisconsin. Madison is home to Epic Systems, Exact Sciences, American Family Insurance, and the University of Wisconsin, all of which hire senior data talent. Milwaukee has a stronger concentration of manufacturing, financial services, and insurance employers, including Rockwell Automation, Northwestern Mutual, and Fiserv, that regularly seek data science leadership.
How to find data science manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search data science manager roles in Wisconsin without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers in Madison and Milwaukee who are actively hiring for this level, making it easier to target companies with a real track record of H-1B sponsorship for senior data roles.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific factors data science manager candidates should know about?
Wisconsin has a strong university pipeline through the University of Wisconsin-Madison, which produces graduate-level talent in statistics and computer science and has close industry ties with local employers. Many Wisconsin companies hiring data science managers are mid-sized firms where the role carries broad responsibility, which can support stronger H-1B petitions by clearly demonstrating specialty occupation requirements. DOL prevailing wage determinations for this role in the Madison and Milwaukee metro areas reflect the local tech market and are set independently of national averages.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored data science manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
