We have an opportunity for a Product Engineer to join our Manitowoc, WI team. You will investigate, analyze, and determine solutions, designs, and implement technical changes to existing products to improve design, performance, cost, quality, or manufacturing methods.
This position requires someone to be on-site in Manitowoc, WI, 5 days/week.
YOUR ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will:
- Work with cross-functional teams to analyze new and existing products, parts, and subassemblies to identify opportunities and ideas to reduce total cost while maintaining or enhancing customer value.
- Partner with operations, quality, supply, and product design engineering to resolve issues related to design, material, or function.
- Actively participate in VAVE initiatives by recommending improvements and monitoring implementation of changes. Promote design for manufacturability by working with engineers and suppliers to review and modify tolerances/specifications on both new and existing designs.
- Translate customer needs into the functionality of our product offering.
- Maintain state-of-the-art technical knowledge in area of specialization to provide leadership to the company and the markets served.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Have earned a bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) in an engineering-related field, mechanical engineering preferred.
- Ability to travel approximately 10-15% for both domestic and international business needs.
- Demonstrated ability to take a concept to production, on-time, and on-budget.
- A self-starter with ability to drive projects with minimal supervision, use fact-based problem solving and decision-making ability, and sound analysis skills and judgment.
- Familiarity working with outside regulatory or certifying agencies (UL, NSF, IEC, etc.) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of Intellectual Property law (especially patents/claims/search) is a plus.
COMPENSATION
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $61,200 - $113,600 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs. This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
