Which companies sponsor visas for purchasing managers in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin manufacturers and industrial firms account for a significant share of purchasing manager sponsorships. Companies like Kohler Co., Oshkosh Corporation, Johnson Controls, Harley-Davidson, and Rexnord have sponsored supply chain and procurement roles in the past. Healthcare systems such as Advocate Aurora Health also hire purchasing managers, particularly for supply chain and procurement functions, and have a history of visa sponsorship.
Which visa types are most common for purchasing manager roles in Wisconsin?
The H-1B is the most common visa for purchasing managers in Wisconsin, as the role typically requires a bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, or a related field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. Canadian and Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Candidates already holding an EAD through OPT or a dependent visa can also be hired without new sponsorship.
Which cities in Wisconsin have the most purchasing manager sponsorship jobs?
Milwaukee is the primary market, driven by its dense concentration of manufacturing and industrial companies. Racine and Kenosha, home to major employers along the Illinois border, also generate consistent demand. Green Bay has a strong paper, packaging, and food processing sector that employs procurement professionals. Madison, as a growing tech and healthcare hub, is an emerging market for purchasing manager roles with sponsorship potential.
How to find purchasing manager visa sponsorship jobs in Wisconsin?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, so you can search purchasing manager openings in Wisconsin without sifting through roles that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces positions from manufacturers, distributors, and healthcare networks across Milwaukee, Green Bay, and Madison. Filtering by role and state on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify Wisconsin employers actively open to sponsoring international procurement candidates.
Are there any Wisconsin-specific factors purchasing managers should know before applying?
Wisconsin's economy is heavily tied to manufacturing, food processing, and industrial equipment, so purchasing managers with experience in direct materials, production sourcing, or vendor management in these sectors are particularly competitive. The University of Wisconsin system produces a strong local talent pipeline, meaning sponsored candidates generally need specialized industry experience or niche technical knowledge to stand out. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply statewide, with Milwaukee-area wages typically higher than rural Wisconsin markets.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored purchasing manager jobs in Wisconsin?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
