Which companies sponsor visas for hospitalists in Wyoming?
The primary visa-sponsoring employers for hospitalists in Wyoming include large regional health systems such as Banner Health and UCHealth, as well as Wyoming Medical Center in Casper and Cheyenne Regional Medical Center. Critical access hospitals in smaller communities like Cody, Gillette, and Riverton also sponsor international physicians, often citing persistent shortages as the driving reason for their willingness to support visa petitions.
Which visa types are most common for hospitalist roles in Wyoming?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for internationally trained hospitalists in Wyoming, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a medical degree. The J-1 visa with a Conrad 30 waiver is also widely used, particularly for physicians willing to commit to three years of service in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area, which covers much of rural Wyoming. Some employers also support O-1 visa petitions for physicians with distinguished credentials.
Which cities in Wyoming have the most hospitalist sponsorship jobs?
Casper and Cheyenne account for the largest share of hospitalist positions in Wyoming, as both cities host the state's major acute care hospitals. Jackson sees demand driven by its resort economy and seasonal population surges. Smaller cities including Gillette, Rock Springs, and Laramie also post hospitalist openings, with many facilities there qualifying as underserved areas that strengthen a physician's case for a J-1 visa Conrad 30 waiver.
How to find hospitalist visa sponsorship jobs in Wyoming?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find hospitalist visa sponsorship jobs in Wyoming, since the platform filters specifically for roles where employers have indicated willingness to sponsor international candidates. Wyoming's hospitalist market is relatively small, so new postings can move quickly. Checking Migrate Mate regularly and setting up role-specific alerts for Wyoming hospitalist positions gives you the best chance of catching openings before they close.
What state-specific factors should international hospitalists know before applying in Wyoming?
Wyoming has one of the lowest physician-to-population ratios in the country, which works in favor of international hospitalists seeking sponsorship. A significant portion of the state is federally designated as a Health Professional Shortage Area or Medically Underserved Area, making Conrad 30 waiver slots more accessible than in urban states. Wyoming also does not have a state income tax, which affects overall compensation comparisons. Licensing is handled through the Wyoming Board of Medicine and requires USMLE passage and credential verification.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored hospitalist jobs in Wyoming?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
