Brazer Jobs in USA with Visa Sponsorship
Brazers perform specialized welding and metal joining operations in manufacturing, construction, and industrial settings. H-1B visa sponsorship is challenging because many brazing positions don't require a specific bachelor's degree field, failing the specialty occupation test. However, roles requiring engineering knowledge or working with complex aerospace/medical components may qualify. For detailed occupation requirements, see the O*NET profile.

Target engineering-focused brazing roles
Look for positions requiring metallurgical engineering knowledge, aerospace component assembly, or medical device manufacturing. These roles better demonstrate the specialized degree requirement for H-1B approval.
Emphasize technical complexity in applications
Highlight work with exotic alloys, precision tolerances, or specialized brazing techniques like vacuum brazing. Document how your engineering education directly applies to complex brazing processes.
Consider manufacturing engineer positions instead
Many brazing professionals transition to manufacturing engineering roles that oversee brazing operations. These positions have stronger H-1B approval rates due to clear engineering degree requirements.
Focus on aerospace and medical device companies
Industries requiring precision brazing of critical components are more likely to sponsor visas. Companies like Boeing, Medtronic, or aerospace suppliers value specialized brazing expertise.
Document specialized certifications prominently
AWS brazing certifications, aerospace welding qualifications, or medical device manufacturing credentials strengthen your case by demonstrating specialized knowledge beyond basic brazing skills.
Apply for research and development roles
R&D positions developing new brazing techniques or materials typically require engineering degrees and qualify more easily for H-1B sponsorship than production-line brazing positions.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do brazing jobs qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Most traditional brazing jobs don't qualify for H-1B visa because they don't require a specific bachelor's degree field. However, specialized roles in aerospace, medical devices, or R&D that require engineering knowledge may qualify. The position must demonstrate why a degree is essential for the specific brazing work.
What degree do I need for brazing H-1B sponsorship?
Materials engineering, metallurgical engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering degrees work best. The degree field must directly relate to the specialized brazing techniques or materials involved. General brazing experience alone typically isn't sufficient without the educational requirement.
How to find Brazer jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Brazer jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on manufacturing companies, steel production facilities, and metalworking industries that commonly hire Brazers. These employers typically offer H-1B, H-2B visa, or EB-3 visa sponsorship for skilled welding and metal joining positions across industrial sectors.
Which industries sponsor brazers for work visas?
Aerospace manufacturers, medical device companies, nuclear power equipment manufacturers, and specialized manufacturing firms are most likely to sponsor. These industries require precision brazing of critical components where engineering knowledge is essential for safety and performance standards.
How can I strengthen my brazing H-1B application?
Focus on roles requiring specialized brazing techniques like vacuum brazing, diffusion bonding, or exotic alloy joining. Document how your engineering education applies to material selection, joint design, or process optimization. Obtain industry-specific certifications in aerospace or medical device brazing.
Are there alternatives to H-1B for brazing professionals?
Consider TN visa status if you're Canadian or Mexican with an engineering degree. The O-1 visa works for brazers with extraordinary achievements in specialized techniques or research. Some may qualify for EB-2 NIW if their brazing expertise serves national interests in aerospace or defense.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Brazer jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
