Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced CAD Drafter to support piping inspection and engineering documentation at a major industrial facility in the Los Angeles area. This position will primarily focus on maintaining and updating inspection isometric drawings, incorporating field redlines, performing field walkdowns, and creating accurate piping and system drawings using AutoCAD. The ideal candidate is comfortable working both in the field and at a computer and can confidently navigate P&IDs and piping documentation. The position will also support engineering and inspection records using OpenText and may assist with organizing electronic inspection files and data.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update inspection isometric drawings using AutoCAD
- Incorporate field redlines and inspection updates into existing drawings
- Perform field walkdowns to verify piping configurations and gather drawing information
- Create and update piping system drawings and circuit isometrics
- Read, interpret, and navigate P&IDs and piping isometrics
- Assist with identifying and documenting piping systems and circuits
- Maintain accurate piping, equipment, drawing, and inspection records
- Utilize OpenText to retrieve, organize, and maintain engineering and inspection documentation
- Support drawing revisions, document control, and overall data management
- Assist with the organization of electronic inspection files and records
- Coordinate with inspection, engineering, and other site personnel as needed
