Look for manufacturing and distribution companies
Target large manufacturing, pharmaceutical, automotive, and aerospace companies that frequently sponsor visas and operate complex material handling operations requiring specialized expertise.
Research companies with government contracts

Degrees in supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or business administration strengthen your case for specialty occupation classification in material handling roles.

Find Material Handler JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Can material handlers get H-1B visa sponsorship?
Yes, but the role must require specialized knowledge in areas like warehouse management systems, inventory control software, or hazardous materials handling. Basic manual material handling positions typically don't qualify for H-1B sponsorship as they don't meet the specialty occupation requirement of needing a bachelor's degree in a specific field.
How to find Material Handler jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Material Handler jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international candidates with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on manufacturing companies, logistics firms, warehouses, and distribution centers that commonly hire Material Handlers on H-1B, TN, or other work visas. These industries frequently sponsor international workers due to consistent demand for skilled material handling professionals.
What degree do I need for material handler visa sponsorship?
Supply chain management, logistics, industrial engineering, or business administration degrees are most relevant. The key is demonstrating that your education directly relates to the specialized aspects of the material handling position, such as inventory management systems, lean manufacturing processes, or warehouse optimization techniques.
Which companies sponsor material handlers for work visas?
Large manufacturing companies, pharmaceutical firms, automotive manufacturers, aerospace companies, and defense contractors are most likely to sponsor material handlers. These employers often have complex supply chain operations requiring specialized knowledge and established visa sponsorship programs for technical roles.
What's the approval rate for material handler H-1B petitions?
Material handler H-1B approvals depend heavily on demonstrating specialty occupation requirements. Positions involving warehouse management systems, automated equipment operation, or hazardous materials handling have higher approval rates than basic manual handling roles. Having relevant technical education and certifications significantly improves approval odds.
Can I get sponsored as a material handler without a degree?
It's very difficult. H-1B petitions require demonstrating that the role needs a bachelor's degree. Without formal education, you'd need extensive specialized experience in warehouse management systems, inventory software, or complex material handling operations to potentially qualify under the three-years-experience-equals-one-year-education rule.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Material Handler jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
