Find Motor Winder JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Do motor winder jobs qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Motor winder positions can qualify for H-1B sponsorship when they require specialized engineering knowledge of electrical systems, motor design, or industrial automation. The role must typically require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field to meet specialty occupation requirements.
What degree do I need for motor winder visa sponsorship?
Most sponsored motor winder positions require a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or electrical technology. Some employers accept equivalent experience using the three-to-one rule, where three years of specialized motor winding experience can substitute for one year of education.
How to find Motor Winder jobs with visa sponsorship?
To find Motor Winder jobs with visa sponsorship, use Migrate Mate, which specializes in connecting international workers with sponsoring employers. Focus your search on manufacturing companies, electrical equipment manufacturers, and industrial motor repair facilities that commonly hire Motor Winders. These employers typically offer H-1B, TN, or EB-3 visa sponsorship opportunities for skilled electrical technicians and motor repair specialists.
Which companies sponsor motor winders for work visas?
Aerospace manufacturers like Boeing and Lockheed Martin, industrial motor manufacturers such as ABB and Siemens, defense contractors, and specialized electrical repair companies sponsor motor winders. These companies typically need workers for complex motor repair, custom winding specifications, or supervisory roles requiring engineering knowledge.
What makes a motor winder position eligible for sponsorship?
Sponsored motor winder roles typically involve designing custom winding patterns, using computerized winding equipment, troubleshooting complex electrical systems, or supervising production teams. Basic assembly or routine repair work generally doesn't qualify, but positions requiring engineering analysis of motor specifications and performance optimization do.
Are there alternatives to H-1B for motor winder positions?
Australians can use the E-3 visa for motor winder positions at qualifying companies. Canadians and Mexicans may qualify for TN visas if the role requires engineering duties. The O-1 visa is possible for motor winders with extraordinary ability in electrical engineering or specialized motor design expertise.
What is the prevailing wage requirement for sponsored Motor Winder jobs?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
