THE POSITION
At STACK, the Senior Revenue Accountant is an essential part of the Finance and Accounting Department. This individual will be responsible for overseeing revenue recognition, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (such as ASC 606), managing revenue-related processes, and providing critical financial insights to support the business for a portion of our portfolio of business. This role requires a blend of technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication skills to interact effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities

You thrive in a fast-paced multitasking environment and easily adapt to change and rapid company growth. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Revenue Recognition:
- Ensure accurate and timely client billing, and revenue recognition in accordance with ASC standards.
- Review and analyze contracts for proper revenue recognition treatment, ensuring all data center contracts are appropriately categorized.
- Work closely with finance, accounting, sales, legal, and operations teams to assess the impact of new contracts and amendments for impacts to financial statements.
- Prepare service orders ensuring they are consistent with the executed contracts and produce accurate accounting (ASC 606 and/or ASC 842).
Month-End Close:
- Perform detailed reconciliations of revenue-related accounts including common area maintenance and utilities by facility or tenant to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare journal entries related to revenue recognition, reimbursements, deferred revenue, and accruals.
Revenue Reporting & Analysis:
- Prepare revenue-related reports for management, highlighting trends, variances, and opportunities for optimization.
- Analyze revenue performance and collaborate with business units to support financial decision-making.
- Prepare monthly utility billing calculations.
Audit & Compliance:
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, providing documentation, and ensuring adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
System & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to improve revenue recognition processes and reporting tools, leveraging ERP and other financial systems.
- Identify and implement process improvements to streamline the recognition and reporting of revenue in the data center business.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with Sales, Legal, and Operations teams to understand contract terms and ensure compliance with revenue recognition policies.
- Provide customer service to external customers in portfolio as questions, concerns arise, participate in quarterly business reviews, and support accounts receivable as needed.

MUST-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
- Accounting degree required
- Detail-oriented
- NetSuite experience is desirable
- 5+ years' experience in revenue accounting, with a strong preference to real estate and leasing related experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Office product suite, especially Excel
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communications skills
- Enjoys collaborating and works well cross-functionally with other teams
- Ability to execute, process, and prioritize tasks with minimal-to-no supervision
- Comfort creating processes and implementing strategies that serve an organization
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP especially ASC 606 and ASC 842
- Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with internal staff, external consultants, customers, and other stakeholders

$94,340.00 - $104,940.00
