Senior Level Wealth Advisor Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level wealth advisor job?
Employers hiring at the senior level look for advisors who own client relationships end to end, not just execute on someone else's plan. A deep book of business, credentials like CFP or CFA, and a record of growing assets under management carry the most weight. Demonstrating that you can mentor junior advisors and contribute to team revenue targets gives candidates a clear edge at this stage.
Which companies hire senior level wealth advisors?
Companies hiring senior level wealth advisors right now include Citi, Mariner, and M&T Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level covers large wirehouses, regional broker-dealers, registered investment advisory firms, and private banks that serve high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clientele.
Are there remote senior level wealth advisor jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and client model. About 14% of senior level wealth advisor openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with fully remote roles most common at firms built around virtual advisory services and hybrid arrangements more typical at larger institutions where in-person client meetings remain part of the role.
What makes a wealth advisor role senior level?
Senior level wealth advisor roles are defined by ownership of high-value client relationships, independent decision-making on complex financial plans, and accountability for portfolio performance across a significant book of business. These positions also carry an expectation of mentoring junior and mid-level advisors, contributing to business development, and often setting standards for how the broader advisory team operates.
Which industries hire the most senior level wealth advisors?
Senior Level wealth advisor roles concentrate in Banking & Financial Services, Investment & Asset Management, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive hiring at this level because they serve clients with complex, multi-generational wealth needs that require experienced advisors capable of managing sophisticated planning strategies and large asset bases.
