ROLE OVERVIEW
Leverage your technical accounting skill set and experience in the SaaS/technology industry in the role of an Accounting Manager on the Finance team at HealthVerity! This role is designed for a driven, up-and-coming accounting leader interested in building their career within a rapidly expanding technology company. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining the general ledger, reviewing financial statements, preparing monthly financial reports for the Board of Directors, assisting with our audit, tax and budgeting processes and ensuring compliance with US GAAP requirements.
The Accounting Manager will also be tasked with taking ownership of projects on the Finance team, automating processes (including AI adoption) and playing an active role in the coaching & mentoring of accounting staff. You will also have the opportunity to participate, as needed, in the monthly forecasting, planning and analysis function for the company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and roll forward schedules for various accounts
- Prepare daily and monthly journal entries and supporting schedules
- Manage the month end close process and analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert the VP Corporate Controller
- Review monthly sales commissions, expense reimbursements and monthly reports prepared by staff accountant
- Participate in preparing the monthly reporting package, including analysis of current actual periods to prior periods
- Assist with preparation of documentation for the annual financial statement audit, tax filings and budgeting
- Assist in the development and/or enhancement of policies and procedures that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the accounting function and organization
- Support the VP Corporate Controller, by taking ownership of special projects, accounting research, timeliness of year-end financial audit and monthly financial statement close process
- Review and guide the work of senior and staff accountants
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor's Degree with Accounting or Finance Concentration
- 5+ years of progressive GL experience in a high-growth SaaS environment and/or public accounting
- Experience in the review and implementation of financial controls and procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Possessing a high sense of urgency, ability to interact with multiple levels within the organization and be an effective team player
Preferred
- Experience with Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred
- CPA or CPA candidate a plus; Big 4 firm experience preferred
Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $135,000 - 165,000 + annual bonus opportunity.
Hiring Locations
Our main office is located in Center City, Philadelphia, where we operate on a hybrid model with in-office work required three days a week for local employees. We believe collaboration is most effective when teams come together, which is why we prioritize hiring in the Philadelphia area.
For certain roles, we also hire from hub locations—regions where we have an established presence with multiple team members working remotely. While these employees primarily work from home, we bring them together in person at least once a year for team-building, collaboration, and strategic planning.
Due to tax and labor regulations, we can only hire from specific states. Remote work is supported in the following key hub locations and approved states:
