Accounting Manager Jobs in Raleigh: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a accounting manager job in Raleigh?
The strongest path into an accounting manager role in Raleigh is through the city's technology, life sciences, and healthcare sectors, which consistently drive the highest volume of openings. Candidates with experience in multi-entity close cycles, consolidations, or SaaS revenue recognition stand out with the many software and medtech firms headquartered in and around North Hills and Research Triangle Park. A CPA license and prior supervisory experience are the two factors that most reliably move a resume to the top of the pile here.
Which companies hire accounting managers in Raleigh?
Companies currently hiring accounting managers in Raleigh include VALERIS, Circle K, and Lumexa Imaging, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Raleigh's employer mix includes a combination of publicly traded tech and life sciences companies, regional banks and credit unions, large healthcare systems, and a growing layer of private equity-backed mid-market firms that regularly need accounting managers to support rapid growth or post-acquisition integration.
Are there remote accounting manager jobs in Raleigh?
Yes, though remote availability is more limited than in purely analytical roles since accounting managers typically oversee a local team and close cycles tied to a specific entity. About 50% of accounting manager openings tied to Raleigh are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, with most of those positions originating from technology and software companies that maintain distributed finance teams. The parts of the role most amenable to remote work are financial reporting, reconciliations, and close management, while supervision and stakeholder meetings tend to require periodic in-office presence.
How can I get a accounting manager job in Raleigh with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Raleigh is moving into an accounting manager role after two to four years as a senior accountant or team lead at one of the city's mid-size technology, healthcare, or professional services firms. Companies in the Research Triangle Park corridor and the North Hills office market frequently promote from within, so targeting employers with active growth trajectories gives you the best chance of stepping into a supervisory seat. Volunteering to lead a close cycle, mentor a junior staffer, or own a reporting deliverable signals readiness before the title change.
Which industries hire the most accounting managers in Raleigh?
The sectors hiring the most accounting managers in Raleigh are Retail, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Raleigh's concentration of high-growth technology companies, major academic medical centers, and expanding financial services firms creates sustained demand for accounting managers who can handle complex, fast-moving financial environments across multiple business units.
