Accounting Manager Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a accounting manager job in Philadelphia?
Target Philadelphia's strongest hiring sectors: health systems anchored in West Philadelphia and North Philadelphia, financial services and insurance firms in Center City, and the growing professional services cluster along Market Street corridor. Candidates who combine CPA credentials with experience in fund accounting, grant management, or healthcare revenue cycle stand out locally. Networking through local CPA society chapters and attending Philadelphia-area finance events accelerates introductions to decision-makers at mid-size and regional firms.
Which companies hire accounting managers in Philadelphia?
Employers hiring accounting managers in Philadelphia right now include Amtrak, DLC, and PA Compensation Rating Bureau, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Philadelphia's market is shaped by a mix of large health networks, regional banks, insurance carriers, and mid-market professional services firms that each maintain dedicated accounting leadership.
Are there remote accounting manager jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though accounting manager roles are more limited on remote options than purely analytical positions because they often require in-person oversight of staff and close-cycle coordination. About 90% of accounting manager openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with flexibility more common at financial services and technology-adjacent firms in Center City than at health systems or nonprofits.
How can I get a accounting manager job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is moving up from a senior accountant or accounting supervisor role within one of the city's large health networks or regional professional services firms, which tend to promote internally and post structured advancement programs. Gaining experience with Philadelphia-area nonprofit grant accounting or fund accounting at one of the city's university-affiliated institutions also builds the profile that local hiring managers look for in first-time managers.
Which industries hire the most accounting managers in Philadelphia?
