Job Description:
Provides help with all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments and consultations as part of a Physician/Physician Assistant team in accordance with the designated specialty. Works in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. Serves as an educator, case manager, consultant to staff and multidisciplinary health care team.
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides clinical care for patients
- Completes comprehensive patient assessments.
- Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness.
- Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician.
- Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment.
- Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care.
- Refers for specialty care when determined. Consults with physician when patient needs outside of Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear.

- Licensed Physician Assistant - MN Board of Medical Practice or Licensed Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire
- ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days
- Certification as Physician Assistant - NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) or equivalent Nurse Practitioner certification required upon hire
- Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support from American College of Surgeons required upon hire
Physical Demands
- Medium Work*: Lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $147,243 to $169,998 per year The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).Allina Health is committed to adhering with all applicable local, state and federal minimum wage requirements.
