AI Data Engineer Jobs in Arizona: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai data engineer in Arizona?
There is no state-issued license required to work as an ai data engineer in Arizona, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical skill. Most Arizona employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, or software engineering, though candidates from mathematics or electrical engineering backgrounds are regularly hired. Building a portfolio of end-to-end data pipeline and ML model deployment projects, combined with cloud certifications from AWS or Microsoft Azure, gives Arizona applicants a strong competitive edge.
How much do AI data engineers make in Arizona?
AI data engineers in Arizona earn a median of about $107,240 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $65,200 for the lowest 10% to over $161,730 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire ai data engineers in Arizona?
Employers hiring ai data engineers in Arizona right now include ASM, Revstar, and RRA Capital, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Arizona's mix of semiconductor firms, national financial services companies, and large healthcare systems means ai data engineer openings appear across multiple industries rather than clustering in a single sector.
Which Arizona cities have the most ai data engineer jobs?
Phoenix, Arizona, and Chandler lead Arizona for ai data engineer openings. Phoenix dominates by volume given its concentration of corporate headquarters, financial technology firms, and hospital systems, while Scottsdale and Tempe attract engineering hiring through technology campuses and proximity to Arizona State University's research partnerships, making the broader metropolitan area by far the densest market in the state.
Are there remote ai data engineer jobs in Arizona?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 100% of ai data engineer openings tied to Arizona are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based and collaborative-tool-driven nature of the work. Data pipeline development, model monitoring, and MLOps engineering are the sub-areas most consistently offered on a fully remote basis, while roles requiring close coordination with on-site infrastructure or data center hardware tend to require in-office or hybrid schedules.
How can I get hired as a ai data engineer in Arizona with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate data engineer or junior data analyst role, which large Arizona employers such as Intel, Honeywell, and Banner Health post specifically for recent graduates. Arizona State University and University of Arizona both have direct recruiting pipelines into local technology teams for graduating seniors. Building two or three public GitHub projects that demonstrate data pipeline construction, cloud deployment, and at least one machine learning workflow is the credential that moves a candidate without professional history past initial screening.
Where can I find and apply to ai data engineer jobs in Arizona?
You can find and apply to ai data engineer jobs in Arizona on Migrate Mate, which lists current Arizona openings from employers actively hiring in the state. Search the listings for roles that match your experience level and technical stack, then apply directly to the ones that fit.
