AI Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a ai in Florida?
AI roles in Florida do not require a state-issued license. Most employers expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, machine learning, or a closely related field, with a master's degree preferred for research and senior positions. Florida universities such as the University of Florida, University of Central Florida, and Florida International University offer graduate programs in AI and data science that are well recognized by in-state employers.
Which companies hire ais in Florida?
Employers hiring ais in Florida right now include Mayo Clinic, Jabil, and The Mosaic Company, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's mix of defense contractors in the Orlando and Melbourne corridors, major financial institutions in Miami, and large hospital systems statewide means consistent demand across several distinct industries.
Which Florida cities have the most ai jobs?
Tampa, Jacksonville, and Miami have the most ai openings in Florida. Miami drives volume through its financial services and tech startup ecosystem, Orlando anchors demand through aerospace, defense, and simulation technology firms, and Tampa contributes through cybersecurity companies, health informatics organizations, and regional corporate headquarters clustered in the metro.
Are there remote ai jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 33% of ai openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much of the work involves model development, data pipelines, and code reviews that translate well to distributed teams. The roles most likely to stay fully remote are those focused on NLP research, MLOps, and data engineering rather than on-site embedded AI support.
How can I get hired as a ai in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through an internship or co-op during a degree program, since Florida employers such as Lockheed Martin, Chewy, and large hospital networks run structured new-grad programs that convert directly to full-time roles. Candidates who build a GitHub portfolio demonstrating end-to-end model projects, or who move laterally from data analyst or software engineer positions, consistently have stronger outcomes. Completing a recognized certification in machine learning or cloud AI services also helps bridge the gap for applicants without a graduate degree.
Where can I find and apply to ai jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to ai jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the listings for roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
