Entry Level AI Software Developer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level ai software developer job?
Entry level ai software developer employers look for hands-on evidence that you can build and deploy models, not just describe them. A GitHub portfolio with real projects, familiarity with Python and common ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow, and any internship or capstone work signal readiness. Candidates who can explain their technical choices clearly during interviews consistently stand out at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level ai software developers?
Companies hiring entry level ai software developers right now include CVS Health, Google, and TikTok, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. The mix typically includes large technology firms, AI-focused startups, and enterprise companies integrating AI into existing products, all of which tend to post junior and new grad roles on a rolling basis.
Are there remote entry level ai software developer jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by employer and team. About 76% of entry level ai software developer openings are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, which is relatively high compared to other engineering disciplines. Many AI teams operate distributed because the core work, writing and testing code, happens on a laptop with cloud compute rather than at a fixed workstation.
Are these new grad ai software developer jobs?
Yes, the listings here include new grad, recent graduate, and junior ai software developer roles. A posting is new-grad friendly when it welcomes zero to two years of experience, treats internships and academic projects as qualifying background, or asks for a portfolio instead of a long work history. Look for language like "entry level," "junior," or "new grad" in the job description to confirm the role fits.
Which industries hire the most entry level ai software developers?
Entry Level ai software developer roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Artificial Intelligence, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because they are actively building AI capabilities into their products and workflows, creating steady demand for junior developers who can contribute to model development, data pipelines, and integration work from day one.
