Job Title: Quality Assurance Workflow Automation and Analytics Engineer
Career Level From: Associate
Career Level To: Senior Specialist
Job Specialty: Quality Assurance
What You'll Do
The Quality Assurance Workflow Automation and Analytics Engineer works alongside Quality Assurance and Readiness Assurance staff to make essential day to day work faster, more consistent, and easier to verify. The role identifies manual and repetitive work that consumes professional time, then builds the automated workflows, digital forms, and AI-assisted tools which carry that work out reliably to accelerate assurance processes. Work is performed within site-approved platforms, and the role partners with Information Services and Digital Transformation on anything that crosses enterprise system boundaries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Workflow Automation: Design, build, and maintain automated quality assurance workflows and digital forms using site-approved systems such as Tableau, SharePoint, Microsoft CoPilot, SAP, PWM, and approved AI platforms. This includes developing and testing new digital quality oversight tools, workflows, and automated report generators to remove administrative redundancies and enhance process efficiency.
- Automated Process & AI Optimization: Partner with QA process owners to master mission-critical workflows, delivering engineered prompts, templates, agents, and/or scripts that convert manual tasks into dependable, AI-assisted workflows. Drive each solution from concept to production on rapid, focused cycles. Securely connect approved AI capabilities to QA data sources, coordinating with Information Services for enterprise-level system integration.
- Reliability and Verification: Design the review points, checks, and record keeping that make digital workflows verifiable, repeatable, and defensible within a nuclear quality program. Test each tool against known cases before it is placed in use, and retest after changes to confirm it still performs as expected.
- Process Mapping and Analysis: Collaborate with QA program leads to evaluate existing process maps, identify manual bottlenecks, and recommend modern digital solutions that can be rapidly prototyped and deployed to compress cycle times and move schedule velocity to the left.
- Data Visualization and Performance Metrics: Connect automated workflows to centralized tracking systems and interactive dashboards such as Tableau. Build and maintain real-time status and analytics boards that monitor critical quality metrics, trends, and milestones, giving leadership actionable, data-driven insight.
- Technical Translation and Modernization Liaison: Translate Quality Assurance process needs into clear technical requirements that Information Services and Digital Transformation partners can act on. Serve as the QA point of contact for emerging digitization work, and turn user ideas into simple working prototypes that demonstrate value before larger investment is made.
- Technical Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide the scripting adjustments needed to troubleshoot and sustain existing QA office automations, ensuring daily operational reliability.
- Support Organizational Continuous Improvement initiatives related to digital modernization and digital assurance.
What You Can Expect

- Demonstrated ability to write basic scripts or expressions (e.g., VBA, SQL, basic Python, or JavaScript) to manipulate data and link disparate interfaces.
- Practical experience working with commercial large language models beyond the chat interface, including from a command line or through an application programming interface (API), and the ability to write instructions that return consistent, structured results that a script or database can use.
- Sound judgment about the limits of AI-generated output, including the ability to explain why a model result cannot stand on its own as a quality record and to build in the verification steps that make it usable.

Analytics Engineer Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a analytics engineer in Tennessee?
Analytics engineering in Tennessee does not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical skills. Most Tennessee employers expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a quantitative field, though some accept equivalent experience. Building a portfolio of dbt projects, SQL work, and cloud pipeline examples strengthens a candidacy significantly. Many Tennessee employers in healthcare and logistics also value familiarity with domain-specific data systems before making a hire.
How much do analytics engineers make in Tennessee?
Analytics engineers in Tennessee earn a median of about $100,330 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,200 for the lowest 10% to over $156,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire analytics engineers in Tennessee?
Employers hiring analytics engineers in Tennessee right now include Oracle, Deloitte, and Kenco, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of large healthcare networks, financial technology firms, and distribution operations means demand stays relatively consistent throughout the year.
Which Tennessee cities have the most analytics engineer jobs?
Nashville, Memphis, and Oak Ridge have the most analytics engineer openings in Tennessee. Nashville drives the largest share of postings because of its dense cluster of healthcare systems, insurers, and fintech companies, while Memphis and Knoxville add volume through logistics and manufacturing enterprises that run their own analytics functions.
Are there remote analytics engineer jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. Analytics engineering is desk-based work with no requirement for physical presence, making it well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 67% of analytics engineer openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly distributed this kind of technical work has become. The parts of the role most commonly done fully remote are pipeline development, data modeling, and documentation.
How can I get hired as a analytics engineer in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is an associate or junior data analyst role, which many Tennessee healthcare and logistics employers use as a feeder into analytics engineering. HCA Healthcare and FedEx both run structured analytics rotational or associate programs that bring in candidates without direct engineering experience. Building a public dbt or SQL portfolio and earning a cloud platform certification gives candidates a measurable edge during screening. Lateral moves from business intelligence analyst or data analyst positions are also a common and well-worn route into the discipline at Tennessee employers.
