Business Analyst Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a business analyst in Tennessee?
Business analyst roles in Tennessee do not require a state-issued license, but most employers expect a bachelor's degree in business, information systems, or a related discipline. Candidates who pursue a Certified Business Analysis Professional designation or a PMI Professional in Business Analysis credential gain a clear competitive edge, particularly with healthcare and financial employers concentrated in Nashville and Memphis. Building experience with healthcare data systems is especially valuable given Tennessee's dominant employer base.
Which companies hire business analysts in Tennessee?
Employers hiring business analysts in Tennessee right now include Oracle, Schneider Electric, and L3Harris, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's strong healthcare and logistics sectors mean that hospital systems, insurance carriers, and supply chain companies represent a large share of consistent business analyst openings across the state.
Which Tennessee cities have the most business analyst jobs?
Nashville, Franklin, and Brentwood have the most business analyst openings in Tennessee. Nashville leads because of its concentration of healthcare corporations, insurers, and financial firms, while Memphis is driven by logistics giants and regional banking, and Knoxville benefits from the presence of large university health systems and energy sector employers such as the Tennessee Valley Authority.
Are there remote business analyst jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. Business analysis is largely a desk-based, documentation-driven discipline, which makes it well suited to remote work. About 56% of business analyst openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how widely distributed this role has become. Requirements gathering, process mapping, and reporting work are the functions most commonly performed fully remote.
How can I get hired as a business analyst in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving laterally from an adjacent operations, finance, or IT support role inside a Tennessee employer rather than applying directly to analyst titles. Large Nashville-area healthcare systems and insurers regularly hire data coordinators, operations associates, and reporting specialists that transition into business analyst roles within one to two years. Completing a business analysis certificate program and building a portfolio of process documentation or requirements samples strengthens any application significantly.
Where can I find and apply to business analyst jobs in Tennessee?
You can find and apply to business analyst jobs in Tennessee on Migrate Mate, which lists current Tennessee openings updated regularly. Find roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employer through each listing.
