Looking to build your career and design your future? You have come to the right place.
We are seeking a skilled SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) Integration Specialist with strong BI development expertise to design, build, and maintain data integration solutions across our SAP and Azure landscape. In the near term, this role will focus on connecting SAP BDC with Azure Data Factory (ADF) to ensure reliable, high-quality data flow into our Azure Data Lake (ADLS), supporting downstream analytics, reporting, and AI/ML workloads. Over time, the role will lead the migration away from ADF — replacing it with native SAP Datasphere pipelines that feed directly into Power BI — consolidating our analytics stack within the SAP BDC ecosystem. This role is critical to enabling data-driven decision-making by bridging SAP source systems with modern cloud analytics and reporting platforms.
Responsibilities
- Configure SAP BDC and Datasphere as the primary data source — set up connections, data flows, and outbound endpoints consumed by existing ADF pipelines
- Design and implement data integration solutions within SAP Business Data Cloud, including data ingestion, transformation, replication, and orchestration
- Expose SAP data via OData services, REST APIs, or Open Connectors from within SAP BDC/Datasphere for ADF and downstream consumption
- Define and publish SAP CDS Views from S/4HANA into Datasphere as the primary extraction layer feeding downstream pipelines
- Set up remote tables, replication flows, and data persistence layers within Datasphere to reliably stage data
- Ensure delta and CDC enablement on the SAP side so incremental pipelines receive correct, complete data
- Manage authentication and secure connectivity between SAP BDC and Azure — OAuth, service principals, and SAP Integration Suite where applicable
- Maintain existing ADF pipelines — monitor performance, troubleshoot failures, and ensure SLA adherence during the transition period
- Plan and execute the migration of ADF pipelines into native SAP Datasphere data flows and transformation layers
- Build and optimize Datasphere analytical datasets and semantic models to serve as the direct source for Power BI
- Configure and maintain SAP Datasphere to Power BI connectivity — live connection, DirectQuery, or dataset publish patterns
- Develop and maintain BI reports, dashboards, and analytical models using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and/or Power BI
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams to understand data requirements and translate them into scalable solutions
- Monitor data pipeline performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data quality and integrity
- Document integration architecture, data flows, migration progress, and BI solutions; support end-user training and adoption
Qualifications
- 7+ years of SAP data and analytics experience with deep hands-on expertise in SAP BDC and/or SAP Datasphere
- Strong experience configuring SAP Datasphere as a data source and building native data flows, transformation views, and analytical datasets
- Proven ability to expose SAP data via OData services, REST APIs, or Open Connectors from within SAP BDC/Datasphere
- Hands-on experience defining and publishing SAP CDS Views from S/4HANA into Datasphere as the extraction layer
- Experience setting up remote tables, replication flows, and data persistence layers within Datasphere
- Strong understanding of delta and CDC enablement on the SAP side to support incremental pipeline patterns
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory — maintaining pipelines, troubleshooting failures, and ensuring SLA adherence
- Experience connecting SAP Datasphere to Power BI, including live connection, DirectQuery, and semantic model publishing
- Experience planning or executing data pipeline migrations — ideally from ADF or similar tools into a native SAP layer
- Solid understanding of SAP data models across core modules (FI, CO, SD, MM, PS)
- Strong SQL and data transformation skills within SAP Datasphere and HANA Cloud
- Experience managing secure connectivity between SAP BDC and Azure — OAuth, service principals, SAP Integration Suite
- Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud data integration patterns
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to data accuracy
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field
Nice to Have
- Experience with SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) as an alternative or complementary reporting layer to Power BI
- Familiarity with SAP BW/4HANA Open Hub as an alternative or legacy extraction mechanism
- Familiarity with SAP HANA Cloud and CDS-based analytical data modeling
- Knowledge of Python or SQL scripting for transformation automation within SAP BDC
- Experience with Power BI dataflows, semantic models, and enterprise-scale report governance
- SAP certification in Datasphere, Analytics Cloud, or BW/4HANA

BI Analyst Jobs in Tennessee: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a bi analyst in Tennessee?
There is no state-issued license required to work as a bi analyst in Tennessee. Most employers hire candidates with a bachelor's degree in business analytics, information systems, computer science, or a related field. Building proficiency in tools like Power BI or Tableau and earning vendor-recognized certifications such as Microsoft's PL-300 strengthens a candidacy considerably. Tennessee's large healthcare and logistics sectors also value analysts who can demonstrate domain knowledge alongside technical skills.
How much do BI analysts make in Tennessee?
BI analysts in Tennessee earn a median of about $100,330 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $60,200 for the lowest 10% to over $156,160 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire bi analysts in Tennessee?
Employers hiring bi analysts in Tennessee right now include Amazon, Edfinancial Services, and L3Harris, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Tennessee's concentration of large healthcare networks, insurance carriers, and distribution companies means demand for bi analysts is spread across multiple industries rather than tied to a single sector.
Which Tennessee cities have the most bi analyst jobs?
Nashville, Knoxville, and Memphis have the most bi analyst openings in Tennessee. Nashville dominates due to its dense cluster of healthcare corporations and financial services firms, while Memphis is driven by logistics giants and regional banks, and Chattanooga has grown as a manufacturing and insurance analytics hub anchored by several large regional employers.
Are there remote bi analyst jobs in Tennessee?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 25% of bi analyst openings tied to Tennessee are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting the desk-based, data-driven nature of the work. Reporting, dashboard development, and ad hoc analysis tasks translate well to remote environments, making bi analyst one of the more consistently flexible roles in Tennessee's tech and analytics job market.
How can I get hired as a bi analyst in Tennessee with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying for junior analyst or data analyst associate roles at Tennessee's major healthcare and financial services employers, where organizations like HCA Healthcare and Unum Group regularly bring on candidates from adjacent roles in data entry, financial reporting, or operations analysis. Building a portfolio of Power BI or Tableau projects and completing the Microsoft PL-300 certification gives early-career candidates a concrete edge when competing against more experienced applicants in Tennessee's market.
