BI Analyst Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a bi analyst in Indiana?
Most bi analyst roles in Indiana require a bachelor's degree in business analytics, information systems, or a related field, and there is no state-issued license specific to the role. Indiana employers, particularly in healthcare and manufacturing, strongly favor candidates who can demonstrate hands-on proficiency with Power BI or Tableau alongside SQL skills. Completing a relevant certification such as the Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate credential meaningfully strengthens applications for Indiana openings.
How much do BI analysts make in Indiana?
BI analysts in Indiana earn a median of about $91,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,750 for the lowest 10% to over $141,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire bi analysts in Indiana?
Indiana bi analyst roles are posted by Cook, Hendricks Regional Health, and Twilio and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indiana's deep concentration of healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and advanced manufacturers means demand for bi analysts is spread across a range of industries rather than a single dominant sector.
Which Indiana cities have the most bi analyst jobs?
Bloomington, Danville, and Evansville have the most bi analyst openings in Indiana right now. Indianapolis drives the largest share of demand as the state's corporate and healthcare hub, while Fort Wayne's manufacturing base and South Bend's growing technology and university-affiliated employers contribute openings that keep those metros consistently active in this field.
Are there remote bi analyst jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 56% of bi analyst openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how naturally this desk-based, data-focused role translates to distributed work. Dashboard development, reporting, and exploratory analysis are the functions most frequently offered with full remote flexibility by Indiana employers.
How can I get hired as a bi analyst in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a reporting analyst or data analyst associate role, which Indiana employers in healthcare and insurance commonly use to onboard candidates who are new to the field. Organizations such as Indiana University Health and Elevance Health post analyst associate positions that accept applicants from adjacent roles like business operations or financial reporting. Building a portfolio of two or three Power BI or Tableau dashboards using publicly available datasets gives hiring managers something concrete to evaluate when your professional history is limited.
