Health Data Analyst Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a health data analyst in Indiana?
A bachelor's degree in health informatics, data science, public health, or a related field is the standard entry point for health data analyst roles in Indiana. No state-issued license is required, but employers commonly expect proficiency in SQL, familiarity with electronic health record systems like Epic, and knowledge of HIPAA compliance. Certifications such as the Registered Health Information Administrator credential from AHIMA or a vendor-specific Epic certification strengthen applications significantly in Indiana's hospital-heavy market.
How much do health data analysts make in Indiana?
Health data analysts in Indiana earn a median of about $91,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,750 for the lowest 10% to over $141,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire health data analysts in Indiana?
Employers hiring health data analysts in Indiana right now include Jobot, Delta Faucet Company, and Linde, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of November 2026. Indiana's concentration of large integrated health systems and managed care headquarters means a steady pipeline of analytics roles at both the enterprise and department level.
Which Indiana cities have the most health data analyst jobs?
Indianapolis, Carmel, and Watson have the most health data analyst openings in Indiana. Indianapolis drives the largest share by a wide margin, anchored by the headquarters of Elevance Health, Indiana University Health, and Regenstrief Institute, while Fort Wayne and South Bend draw demand from regional hospital systems and community health networks serving those metro areas.
Are there remote health data analyst jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most healthcare roles, since health data analysis is desk-based work that translates naturally to remote or hybrid arrangements. About 45% of health data analyst openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of November 2026, reflecting broader industry flexibility for analytics positions. Roles focused on reporting, dashboard development, and claims analysis tend to be the most consistently offered as remote.
How can I get hired as a health data analyst in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to junior analyst, data reporting coordinator, or health information technician roles at Indiana's large hospital systems, which regularly onboard candidates with foundational SQL skills and a relevant degree. Indiana University Health and Eskenazi Health both run new-graduate programs and post associate-level analytics roles that do not require prior industry experience. Building an Epic certification or completing a AHIMA-approved coding or informatics program adds measurable credibility for candidates without professional experience on their resume.
Where can I find and apply to health data analyst jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to health data analyst jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings across hospital systems, managed care organizations, and public health agencies. Find roles that fit your experience and location preferences and apply directly.
