Health Data Analyst Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a health data analyst in Florida?
Start with a bachelor's degree in health informatics, public health, biostatistics, or a related field, as Florida employers consistently require at minimum a four-year degree for analyst roles. Florida does not require a state-issued license to work as a health data analyst, but earning a recognized credential such as the Registered Health Information Administrator credential through AHIMA or the Certified Health Data Analyst designation strengthens your candidacy significantly with Florida health systems and insurers.
How much do health data analysts make in Florida?
Health data analysts in Florida earn a median of about $115,820 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $63,080 for the lowest 10% to over $174,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire health data analysts in Florida?
Employers hiring health data analysts in Florida right now include FIS, Deloitte, and CoStar, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Florida's large integrated health systems, Medicare Advantage insurers, and state agency contractors drive consistent year-round hiring across the region.
Which Florida cities have the most health data analyst jobs?
Miami, Tampa, and Orlando lead Florida for health data analyst openings, reflecting where the state's largest hospital networks, managed care organizations, and health insurance headquarters are concentrated. Tampa and Orlando are anchored by major health systems and a growing health tech corridor, while Miami's volume is driven by its large hospital groups and a dense market of Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans serving South Florida's population.
Are there remote health data analyst jobs in Florida?
Yes, and more than most fields. Health data analysis is primarily desk-based and systems-driven, making it well suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 47% of health data analyst openings tied to Florida are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how broadly employers in this role have adopted flexible work. Roles focused on reporting, dashboard development, and claims analysis tend to be the most consistently remote.
How can I get hired as a health data analyst in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a data or reporting coordinator role inside a Florida hospital system or health plan, where you build hands-on exposure to EHR systems and claims data. AdventHealth, HCA Florida, and Florida Blue all run structured new-graduate programs or associate analyst tracks that accept candidates without prior analytics experience. Earning a Certified Health Data Analyst credential or completing an AHIMA-accredited health informatics program gives you a concrete credential Florida hiring managers recognize, and lateral moves from medical coding, health information management, or clinical operations roles are a well-worn path into analytics at Florida institutions.
Where can I find and apply to health data analyst jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to health data analyst jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings updated regularly. Search the listings, find roles that match your background and location, and apply directly to the employers posting them.
