Data Analytics Specialist Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a data analytics specialist in Indiana?
Most data analytics specialist roles in Indiana require a bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, information systems, or business analytics. Indiana does not issue a state license for this role, so hiring decisions turn on demonstrated technical skills and credentials like the Google Data Analytics Certificate, the Certified Analytics Professional designation, or a relevant master's degree from institutions such as Indiana University, Purdue University, or Butler University.
How much do data analytics specialists make in Indiana?
Data analytics specialists in Indiana earn a median of about $91,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $58,750 for the lowest 10% to over $141,250 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire data analytics specialists in Indiana?
Employers hiring data analytics specialists in Indiana right now include HCM, Amentum, and Finish Line, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indiana's concentration of large healthcare systems, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and insurance companies means demand for specialists with industry-specific domain knowledge tends to be especially strong.
Which Indiana cities have the most data analytics specialist jobs?
Indianapolis, Crane, and Fort Wayne lead Indiana for data analytics specialist openings. Indianapolis drives the largest share of listings because it is home to major healthcare systems, insurance carriers, and a growing tech sector, while Fort Wayne and South Bend contribute openings tied to manufacturing operations and regional financial services firms with analytics functions.
Are there remote data analytics specialist jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 60% of data analytics specialist openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the desk-based and software-driven nature of the work. Roles focused on reporting, dashboard development, and ad hoc analysis tend to be the most remote-eligible, while positions requiring close collaboration with operations or clinical teams are more likely to be on-site.
How can I get hired as a data analytics specialist in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is applying to junior analyst or data analyst associate roles at Indiana's large healthcare systems, such as Indiana University Health or Ascension Saint Vincent, which regularly bring in candidates with strong foundational skills but limited professional experience. Building a portfolio of projects using publicly available datasets, completing a recognized certificate program, and targeting roles like reporting analyst or business intelligence developer can all open the door without prior specialist experience.
Where can I find and apply to data analytics specialist jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to data analytics specialist jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings across industries and experience levels. Search the listings for roles that match your skills and location preference and apply directly to the ones that fit.
