Research Analyst Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a research analyst in Indiana?
Research analyst roles in Indiana do not require a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and demonstrated skills. Most Indiana employers expect at minimum a bachelor's degree in economics, statistics, psychology, public policy, or a related quantitative field, with a master's degree giving candidates a clear advantage at healthcare systems and universities. Building proficiency in data tools and completing an internship or research assistantship at an Indiana university or healthcare institution strengthens any application significantly.
How much do research analysts make in Indiana?
Research analysts in Indiana earn a median of about $92,410 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $55,290 for the lowest 10% to over $132,510 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire research analysts in Indiana?
Companies currently hiring research analysts in Indiana include Indiana University, Bradley Company, and Forest River, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Indiana's concentration of life sciences companies, large hospital systems, and insurance carriers means ongoing demand for analysts who can work with clinical, claims, and consumer data.
Which Indiana cities have the most research analyst jobs?
Indianapolis, Evansville, and Fort Wayne lead Indiana for research analyst openings. Indianapolis dominates because it hosts the state's largest concentration of healthcare systems, pharmaceutical companies, insurance headquarters, and state government agencies, while Fort Wayne and Bloomington draw openings through regional health networks and Indiana University's research operations, respectively.
Are there remote research analyst jobs in Indiana?
Yes, and more than most fields. Research analyst work is largely desk-based and data-driven, making it well suited to remote arrangements. About 60% of research analyst openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly employers have accepted flexible arrangements for this role. Positions in consumer insights, market research, and policy analysis are the most consistently offered as fully remote.
How can I get hired as a research analyst in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a research assistant or junior analyst role, which Indiana's university systems and hospital networks regularly post for candidates without prior industry experience. Indiana University, Purdue University, and Indiana University Health run undergraduate and graduate research programs that feed directly into entry-level analyst pipelines. Roles in data entry, survey coordination, or program evaluation at state agencies also serve as common lateral moves into research analyst work, and candidates who hold a portfolio of coursework projects or volunteer data work alongside a relevant degree stand out in competitive pools.
Where can I find and apply to research analyst jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to research analyst jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings across industries. Find roles that fit your background and apply directly to the ones that match your experience and location preferences.
