Job Overview
As a Dental Assistant, you’ll help keep appointments running smoothly while delivering attentive, reassuring patient care. You’ll prepare treatment rooms, support dentists during procedures, and maintain accurate records. This role may support general dentistry and specialty care, including pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery.
Duties
- Prepare patients and treatment areas; record vital signs and update medical records and documentation.
- Provide chairside assisting and four-handed dentistry, prepare dental equipment, and support dental X-ray and other medical imaging procedures.
- Process and sterilize dental instruments using aseptic technique and infection control practices.
- Manage patient information and appointments using patient management software, EMR (electronic medical record) systems, and practice tools such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; assist with dental receptionist tasks as needed.
- Your impact: Careful preparation, infection prevention, and clear documentation help patients feel supported and enable clinicians to deliver safe, efficient care.

- Essential: Dental assisting or dental clinic experience; patient care skills; knowledge of dental and medical terminology, anatomy, and dental equipment.
- Essential: Understanding of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act), clinical confidentiality policies, dental sterilization procedures, and healthcare infection prevention and control.
