Analytics Manager Jobs in Massachusetts: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a analytics manager in Massachusetts?
Analytics manager roles in Massachusetts do not require a state-issued license. The standard path begins with a bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, data science, economics, or computer science, often followed by a master's degree for competitive roles in biotech or finance. Candidates typically progress from analyst or senior analyst positions, building team leadership experience at Massachusetts employers in life sciences, financial services, or technology before moving into management.
Which companies hire analytics managers in Massachusetts?
Employers hiring analytics managers in Massachusetts right now include SharkNinja, Whoop, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Massachusetts's dense concentration of biotech firms, asset managers, and health-tech companies means demand is spread across multiple industries rather than dominated by a single sector.
Which Massachusetts cities have the most analytics manager jobs?
Boston, Quincy, and Waltham have the most analytics manager openings in Massachusetts. Boston and Cambridge drive the largest share through their dense clusters of life sciences companies, financial institutions, and technology firms, while Waltham has grown into a significant suburban hub as major employers like Biogen and Fidelity operate large campuses there that house centralized analytics teams.
Are there remote analytics manager jobs in Massachusetts?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 62% of analytics manager openings tied to Massachusetts are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how naturally the role suits distributed work. Strategic planning, reporting, and model development are the functions most commonly performed fully remote, while roles tied to cross-functional product or clinical teams tend to require at least occasional on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a analytics manager in Massachusetts with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into an associate analytics or data analyst role first, then building toward management. Large Massachusetts employers like Fidelity, Mass General Brigham, and Liberty Mutual regularly hire entry-level analysts through structured associate programs and early-career rotations. Gaining proficiency in SQL and a visualization tool such as Tableau, combined with a portfolio of independently completed projects, significantly strengthens candidacy. Adjacent roles in business analysis, financial planning, or marketing operations also serve as common lateral entry points into analytics management tracks.
Where can I find and apply to analytics manager jobs in Massachusetts?
