Architect Jobs in Orlando: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an architect job in Orlando?
Focus your search on Orlando's hospitality, healthcare, and theme-park adjacent development sectors, which drive the heaviest local demand. Firms working on convention center expansions, hospital campuses in Lake Nona, and resort-adjacent mixed-use projects hire most consistently. Candidates who can show experience with large-scale commercial or institutional projects and who are registered in Florida stand out in this market.
Which companies hire architects in Orlando?
Companies currently hiring architects in Orlando include Wipro, Lockheed Martin, and Huitt-Zollars, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's market includes a mix of national firms with local offices, regional practices focused on hospitality and healthcare, and in-house design teams at major development and theme-park operators.
Are there remote architect jobs in Orlando?
Yes, though remote work is limited in architecture because most roles involve site visits, client coordination, and hands-on design review. About 82% of architect openings tied to Orlando are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, concentrated in roles focused on computational design, BIM coordination, and project management rather than field-heavy positions.
How can I get an architect job in Orlando with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Orlando is an internship or junior drafter role at a mid-size hospitality or healthcare firm, where project volume is high and mentorship is more structured. Orlando-area firms regularly hire intern architects working toward licensure, and design-build contractors on major mixed-use and resort projects often bring on entry-level staff for documentation and coordination work.
Which industries hire the most architects in Orlando?
Most architect openings in Orlando sit in Consulting & Professional Services, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Orlando's concentration of theme parks, resort hotels, major medical campuses, and ongoing urban infill development keeps demand across those sectors consistently above national averages.
