Artificial Intelligence Scientist Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become an artificial intelligence scientist in Delaware?
Artificial intelligence scientists in Delaware are not required to hold a state-issued license, so the path runs through education and demonstrated technical ability. Most roles require at least a master's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, or a related field, though a PhD is expected for senior research positions. Candidates who build a public portfolio of models, publications, or open-source contributions are consistently more competitive with Delaware employers across financial services, life sciences, and technology sectors.
Which companies hire artificial intelligence scientists in Delaware?
Delaware artificial intelligence scientist roles are posted by JPMorganChase, CVS Health, and The Bancorp and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Delaware's concentration of Fortune 500 financial and pharmaceutical headquarters means many postings are for applied research tied to credit risk, drug discovery, or enterprise analytics platforms.
Which Delaware cities have the most artificial intelligence scientist jobs?
Wilmington, Delaware, and Bear account for the largest share of artificial intelligence scientist openings in Delaware. Wilmington leads because the state's financial services and corporate headquarters cluster there, while Newark benefits from proximity to the University of Delaware and the technology and biotech companies that have established research partnerships with the institution.
Are there remote artificial intelligence scientist jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 43% of artificial intelligence scientist openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting the largely computational nature of the work. Fully remote arrangements are most common for roles focused on model development and research, while positions requiring collaboration with lab teams or regulated financial systems tend to require at least some on-site presence.
How can I get hired as an artificial intelligence scientist in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is a research assistant or junior data scientist role, which large Delaware employers in financial services and life sciences use to develop early-career talent. DuPont and AstraZeneca have historically offered associate researcher and rotational science programs where candidates without production AI experience can contribute to applied projects. Building a portfolio of documented projects, contributing to academic or open-source work during a graduate program at the University of Delaware, and targeting bridge roles such as data analyst or machine learning engineer can each open the door to a full scientist title within a few years.
Where can I find and apply to artificial intelligence scientist jobs in Delaware?
You can find and apply to artificial intelligence scientist jobs in Delaware on Migrate Mate, which lists current Delaware openings. Search the listings to identify roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit your experience and the work you want to do.
