Senior Level Assistant Operations Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level assistant operations manager job?
Employers at this level look for candidates who have moved beyond execution into ownership, someone who has led process improvement initiatives, managed junior staff, and made decisions that affected operational outcomes. Highlight specific results you drove, such as efficiency gains, cost reductions, or team performance improvements. Cross-functional experience and comfort presenting to leadership are strong differentiators at the senior level.
Which companies hire senior level assistant operations managers?
Companies hiring senior level assistant operations managers right now include The Home Depot, Fluor, and City Fitness, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from mid-size to large organizations that have enough operational complexity to require experienced leaders who can work independently and drive results without close supervision.
Are there remote senior level assistant operations manager jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by industry and employer. About 14% of senior level assistant operations manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how companies have adapted operations roles for distributed teams. On-site positions remain common in sectors like manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare, where physical presence is tied directly to operational oversight.
What makes an assistant operations manager role senior level?
Senior level roles are defined by scope, ownership, and leadership responsibility. Where a mid-level assistant operations manager implements processes, a senior professional designs them, owns their outcomes, and is accountable when things go wrong. These roles typically involve mentoring junior staff, leading cross-functional projects, and contributing to strategic planning rather than day-to-day task execution alone.
Which industries hire the most senior level assistant operations managers?
Senior level assistant operations manager roles concentrate in Retail, Construction & Real Estate, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors tend to drive hiring at this level because their operational complexity, regulatory requirements, or scale demand experienced professionals who can manage competing priorities and lead teams through ongoing change.
