Talisman have been retained by a leading investment platform focused on private equity and private credit investments in middle-market sustainable infrastructure businesses. The team brings deep experience across project development, structured finance, and operations to support first-class management teams through periods of growth and transformation. The platform manages hundreds of millions of dollars across several funds and strategies, boasting a successful investment track record across a broad range of renewable energy and sustainable infrastructure technologies to date. Areas of focus have included include solar power, battery storage, hydroelectric generation, energy efficiency, electrified transport, and sustainable fuels.
Job Summary:
The fund is seeking a Vice President to join the investment team in New York City. The role offers exposure to all facets of the investment process, including sourcing, structuring, due diligence, financial analysis, and legal documentation. The Vice President will play a senior role within the investment team, leading the execution of new investments from screening through closing and supporting portfolio companies through value creation and exit. The position includes meaningful origination responsibility, direct interaction with management teams and the investment committee, and oversight of junior investment professionals. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead due diligence workstreams across commercial, financial, technical, legal, and tax topics, including management of external advisors
- Structure and negotiate transactions, including term sheets and definitive documentation
- Build, review, and pressure-test complex financial models and underwriting analyses
- Prepare investment memoranda and present opportunities to senior leadership and the investment committee
- Serve as a key relationship lead for portfolio companies, including performance monitoring and strategic engagement with management teams
- Support value creation initiatives, capital markets activities, and operational improvement programs
- Lead acquisition, merger, and exit processes at both the asset and corporate levels
- Support fundraising and investor relations activities, including preparation of materials and participation in LP diligence sessions
- Mentor and manage junior investment professionals
- Maintain valuation models and support quarterly portfolio reporting
- Coordinate with external counsel, lenders, fund administrators, and other counterparties
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier accredited university
- 5-7 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, infrastructure investing, renewable energy development, and/or project finance
- Strong experience within real assets, infrastructure, power, or renewable energy
- Demonstrated transaction experience across origination, structuring, diligence, negotiation, execution, and portfolio management
- Experience managing junior team members and external advisors
- Advanced Excel and financial modeling capabilities
- Strong understanding of legal and commercial documentation
- Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Intellectual curiosity, entrepreneurial mindset, and passion for the energy transition
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
