Attorney Jobs in Minneapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a attorney job in Minneapolis?
The strongest hiring activity in Minneapolis is in corporate transactional work, healthcare regulatory law, and financial services litigation, driven by the city's concentration of Fortune 500 companies, major health systems, and regional banks. Candidates with experience in those sectors, or with Big Law training from firms headquartered downtown, tend to move faster here. Targeting in-house roles at the North Loop tech and finance cluster is a practical entry point for attorneys seeking to shift out of private practice.
Which companies hire attorneys in Minneapolis?
Employers hiring attorneys in Minneapolis right now include Stinson Leonard Street, Nilan Johnson Lewis PA, and Atticus Family Law, S. C., based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Minneapolis draws a mix of large regional law firms, Fortune 500 in-house legal departments, and major healthcare and financial institutions, all of which maintain active legal hiring throughout the year.
Are there remote attorney jobs in Minneapolis?
Yes, though attorney roles that require court appearances, client depositions, or on-site compliance work remain largely in-person. About 83% of attorney openings tied to Minneapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with flexibility most common in contract review, corporate governance, and in-house advisory positions. Hybrid arrangements anchored to the Downtown Core are the most frequently offered setup among Minneapolis-based legal employers.
How can I get a attorney job in Minneapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Minneapolis is a judicial clerkship with Hennepin County District Court or the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota, both of which feed directly into downtown law firm hiring. Regional firms along the Nicollet Mall corridor and in-house teams at Minneapolis-based healthcare systems also hire junior associates and legal operations specialists for entry-level roles. Demonstrating familiarity with Minnesota procedural rules and local court practice gives newer candidates a concrete edge over generalist applicants.
