We are currently seeking a Compliance Manager to join our corporate staff to work in the Compliance Department. Primary responsibility is to audit site files; assist in all areas regarding compliance with Project Based Section 8, Tax Credit, LISTC, CDBG, HOME, HOPE, and affordable housing programs.
Where will this role work? In our dog friendly office! Corporate office is located at 7200 Metro Boulevard, Edina, MN 55439. Position includes some site work at properties throughout the Twin Cities.
Schedule & Hours: The schedule for this role will be Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Corporate Compliance Manager is responsible for auditing and overseeing the recertification and leasing processes of site files; ensuring they are compliant and within regulatory requirements of Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC/Section 42) Section 8, Project Based Section 8, HOME etc.
The Corporate Compliance Manager will organize and prepare documents for Management Occupancy Reviews (MORS) and other agency audits as required. They will work in collaboration with the Director of Compliance to ensure full compliance with affordable housing requirements of each assigned portfolio. Additional expectations include providing support and mentoring to the Property Managers and Compliance Specialists in the field.
Core Responsibilities:
- Audit and approve Move-Ins, Annual Recertifications and Interim Certifications for affordable properties ensuring they are compliant with Section 8, LIHTC, HOME etc.
- Assist site staff with resident file maintenance in accordance with applicable housing program regulations and Boisclair policies.
- Participate in state (MOR) and syndicator file audits by assisting in site preparation and response to findings.
- Review property monthly EIV reports, ensure proper follow-up is documented in files and in compliance.
- Prepare Special Claims
- Quickly learn and adapt to new federal and state rules and regulations and utilize knowledge to support staff.
- Update and maintain MN Housing’s PORT (Property Online Reporting Tool) & ERP Reporting for the Boisclair properties
- Foster a positive and actively collaborative relationship with Property Managers, Compliance Specialists and Regional Managers.
- Other job duties as required.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in the field of compliance for a property management company.
- COS (Certified Occupancy Specialist) preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Project Based Section 8 experience and multi-layered compliance experience required.
- Knowledge of Section 42 LIHTC policies and regulations preferred
- Knowledge of initial and annual certification process
- Yardi software experience preferred
- Proven ability to foster relationships with and influence peers in fast paced environment and meet restrictive guidelines.
- As applicable, must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle with insurance and safe DMV driving record
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Mathematical ability

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
