Attorney Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a attorney job in Seattle?
Seattle's strongest hiring comes from big tech companies needing in-house counsel, healthcare systems like UW Medicine and Providence, and mid-size litigation boutiques in the downtown core. Candidates with experience in technology transactions, employment law, or healthcare compliance have a clear edge here. Familiarity with Washington state courts and a network built through the King County Bar Association also signals genuine local commitment to Seattle employers.
Which companies hire attorneys in Seattle?
Seattle attorney roles are posted by Cooley LLP, Nationwide, and Foster Garvey PC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's employer mix is unusually broad, combining global tech firms with regional hospital networks, financial institutions, and government agencies concentrated downtown and in Bellevue.
Are there remote attorney jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though it depends heavily on practice area, since litigation and transactional closing work often require in-person presence while legal research, compliance review, and contract drafting roles are more flexible. About 8% of attorney openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting strong demand from Seattle's technology sector for distributed legal teams. In-house roles at tech companies tend to offer the most remote flexibility locally.
How can I get a attorney job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is landing a clerkship with the King County Superior Court or a federal district court, which carries significant weight with local employers. Seattle's robust public-sector market, including the City Attorney's Office and Washington State Attorney General's regional office, regularly hires newer attorneys. Mid-size firms in Pioneer Square and the downtown core also recruit associates, and a demonstrated focus on technology or healthcare law sharpens your profile for Seattle's dominant industries.
Which industries hire the most attorneys in Seattle?
Seattle attorney roles concentrate in Law & Legal Services, Consulting & Professional Services, and Insurance, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's position as a global hub for technology and life sciences, combined with major healthcare systems and a large state and local government presence, keeps legal demand in those sectors consistently high.
