How do I get a behavioral health specialist job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's community mental health centers, federally qualified health centers, hospital-affiliated behavioral health programs, and county-contracted social services agencies, which collectively post the most openings. Concentrations of employers run through Midtown, the Near Eastside, and the Far Eastside. Candidates with direct experience in crisis intervention, substance use treatment, or trauma-informed care stand out in this market, as do those with any Indiana licensure already in progress.
Which companies hire behavioral health specialists in Indianapolis?

Telehealth roles tied to Indianapolis-based providers have grown the most in the remote category locally.
How can I get a behavioral health specialist job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Indianapolis is through community mental health centers and social services nonprofits, which regularly hire entry-level behavioral health technicians, case aide, and support specialist roles that build toward a full specialist position. Organizations operating residential programs and step-down facilities on the Near Eastside and Far Eastside are particularly active with entry-level hiring. Volunteering with Marion County crisis services or completing a practicum with a local provider adds a concrete local credential that helps candidates stand out.
