Essential Duties and Responsibilities
In this role you will be:
- Exemplifying the IRMC mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures to ensure quality care is provided.
- Identifying each patient’s age-specific needs and providing appropriate care as assigned.
- Providing direct patient care including monitoring their conditions, taking vital signs, observing, recording, and reporting behaviors under the supervision of nursing.
- Leading patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
- Assisting with teaching life skills.
- Completing patient documentation.
- Helping to provide a safe and secure unit environment for all patients and staff in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and report any concerning events to members of the organization.
- Being required to float to all units, including geri-psych, adult, and adolescent.
- Responsible for patient transports to and from hospital departments (including the medical center) and for delivery of supplies to departments as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- A high school graduate or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year in behavioral health preferred.
- Previous work experience in health care preferred.
- Psychiatric work experience preferred.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
- Valid PA driver’s license with no previous violation.
- BLS required or attained within 1 month of hire.
