Mid Level Billing Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level billing manager job?
Position your experience around ownership, not just task completion. Highlight billing cycles you managed independently, discrepancies you resolved, and any process improvements you drove. Emphasize familiarity with billing software, your accuracy record on high-volume accounts, and any cross-functional coordination with finance or operations. Applications that show measurable impact, like reduced days sales outstanding or improved collections rates, stand out at this level.
Which companies hire mid level billing managers?
Companies hiring mid level billing managers right now include Jobot, Yale University, and Commure, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Mid-size and enterprise employers in healthcare, professional services, and subscription-based businesses tend to hire most actively at this level, where billing complexity justifies dedicated management rather than a generalist finance role.
Are there remote mid level billing manager jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are common at this level given the desk-based nature of billing work. About 47% of mid level billing manager openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with fully remote roles often tied to companies using cloud-based billing platforms that make distributed teams practical and well-supported.
How do I move up to a mid level billing manager role?
The path typically runs through taking on progressively complex accounts, volunteering to lead billing audits or reconciliation projects, and building fluency in revenue cycle software. Demonstrating that you can catch errors before they escalate, train newer staff informally, and communicate billing issues clearly to non-finance teammates signals readiness for mid level responsibility well before any formal promotion conversation.
Which industries hire the most mid level billing managers?
Mid Level billing manager roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors generate high volumes of recurring or complex billing transactions, which creates sustained demand for managers who can oversee accuracy, compliance, and collections without constant senior supervision.
