Entry Level Biology Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level biology job?
Start by targeting roles that explicitly welcome new graduates or list zero to two years of experience as acceptable. Hands-on lab skills, coursework in relevant techniques, and any internship or research assistant experience give you a real edge. Tailor your resume to highlight specific methods you have used, and apply consistently to openings that match your degree focus, whether that is ecology, microbiology, or another specialty.
Which companies hire entry level biologys?
Companies hiring entry level biologys right now include Indiana University, University of Virginia, and Kennesaw State University, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level comes from a broad mix of employers, including biotech and pharmaceutical companies, environmental consulting firms, research institutions, government agencies, and healthcare organizations that bring on new graduates for lab, field, or research support roles.
Are there remote entry level biology jobs?
Yes, though most biology roles at the entry level are on-site given the lab and field work involved. About 4% of entry level biology openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these tend to concentrate in areas like data analysis, regulatory affairs, science writing, or bioinformatics where the core work can be done without physical access to equipment or specimens.
Are these new grad biology jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior biology roles alongside other entry level postings. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes candidates with zero to two years of experience, accepts internships or undergraduate research in place of full-time work history, and does not require professional licensure. If a posting lists a bachelor's degree and modest experience as sufficient, it is generally open to new grads.
Which industries hire the most entry level biologys?
Entry level biology roles concentrate in Education, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive entry level hiring because they rely on a steady pipeline of new graduates for lab support, field data collection, quality control, and research assistance roles that do not require advanced degrees or years of prior industry experience.
