Geosyntec, a fast-growing, well-respected environmental professional services firm, is seeking a strategic, resourceful, and experienced Business Development Marketing Manager. This position may be located in any of our U.S. locations including Atlanta, GA, Philadelphia, PA, Pittsburgh, PA, Houston, TX, Phoenix, AZ, or Boca Raton, FL. Hybrid or work from home option available, at the company’s discretion.
Our BD initiatives are the forefront of our firms’ growth strategy, and this position is key to their success. You will work closely with engineers and scientists, marketing staff, and other professionals to help us increase our success in existing markets and develop new markets. Utilizing superb writing and organizational skills, this hands-on leader will steer and guide the activities of groups focused on the growth of key markets, clients, and practices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position focuses on guiding teams of people around the firm and in multiple locations on BD and marketing initiatives for markets, practice areas, and clients in collaboration with regional and corporate marketing professionals across the firm. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to the performance of the following activities:
- Lead and guide initiatives for specific markets and clients, coordinating the development of strategic marketing and BD plans;
- Become in-house expert on the marketing attributes and needs of the assigned BD initiatives including competition, drivers, and trends;
- Develop, organize, and maintain a resource database related to assigned BDIs, and promote related internal collaboration sites, including content management & site management;
- Research and support assessment of competitor activities, market intelligence, industry trends, and technological innovations;
- Provide leadership and support for developing, increasing, and maintaining brand awareness through coordination of the BDI’s participation in internal and external media and targeted marketing campaigns;
- Manage and track the preparation of collateral materials, including research, graphical content, and coordinate and/or edit source materials;
- Oversee the integrity of the sales funnel for the BDIs, including but not limited to utilizing a CRM system for data entry, record maintenance, and report preparation;
- Provide guidance and support to regional marketing staff and proposal teams in strategy sessions, capture plans, and win theme/strategy development for proposals and qualification statements;
- Provide leadership and support for industry or professional association project awards nominations, including researching and tracking applicable opportunities, and developing submittal packages;
- Collaborate on the planning and execution of internal meetings and external conferences pertaining to the BDI;
- Create, promote, and manage related internal collaboration sites;
- Assist with content for online presence, including website and social media;
- Work with technical teams to create compelling and informative content, demonstrating our position as thought leader;
- Track, research, and evaluate conference and networking opportunities; define participation strategy; manage and coordinate representation at external conferences and events;
- Work closely with technical leaders to support the BDI goals; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, journalism, communication, or related field with at least eight (8) years of experience in the A/E/C industry for a multi-disciplinary, multi-location firm; or equivalent combination of experience and education or training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the responsibilities of the position. - Intermediate knowledge of the MS Office Products. (required)
- Prior experience with a CRM software package. (preferred)
- Must have the ability to manage individual workload and the workload of others including ability efficiently and effectively to appropriately prioritize with little supervision. (required)
- Familiarity with technical writing standards. (preferred)
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret marketing, technical, and other business documents. (required)
- Ability to manage others in the execution of assignments and serve as a mentor to the next generation of marketing professionals. (required)
- Ability to respond effectively to difficult inquiries or complaints. (required)
- Ability to write, edit, and quality-check materials for and communicate verbally with internal and external audiences in an organized and persuasive manner. (required)
- Ability to understand industry trends, communications, marketing, and strategic plans, with the goal of supporting business development and marketing initiatives. (required)
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out tasks in written, oral, or diagram form. (required)
- Ability to deal with multi-faceted complex interpersonal situations involving internal/external clients, and colleagues at all levels. (required)
- Has working knowledge or understands the activities associated with the development and evaluation of marketing plans and their effectiveness. (required)
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret marketing, technical, and other business documents. (preferred)
- Ability to author marketing materials and correspondence that is well written and organized, clearly presented, focused on the subject at hand and further the Geosyntec “brand”. (required)
- Experience with creating effective presentations and responding to inquiries from internal & external clients. (required)
- Can effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the public. (required)
- Capable of writing in a professional and compelling manner. (required)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
