Industrial Sales Manager Jobs in Georgia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a industrial sales manager in Georgia?
The most direct path is a bachelor's degree in business, industrial engineering, or a technical field, combined with experience in a Georgia industrial sales role such as territory representative or account manager. Industrial sales management in Georgia carries no state-issued license, so employers focus heavily on demonstrated sales performance, product knowledge in sectors like manufacturing or distribution, and leadership experience. Earning a Certified Professional Manufacturer's Representative credential from MANA strengthens candidacy for management roles.
How much do industrial sales managers make in Georgia?
Industrial sales managers in Georgia earn a median of about $159,890 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,560 for the lowest 10% to over $292,490 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire industrial sales managers in Georgia?
Employers hiring industrial sales managers in Georgia right now include Schneider Electric, Wesco, and Graybar, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Georgia's deep concentration of manufacturing, packaging, and distribution operations means demand for industrial sales leadership is consistent across both large multinationals headquartered here and regional distributors serving plant customers throughout the state.
Which Georgia cities have the most industrial sales manager jobs?
Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Newnan lead the state for industrial sales manager openings in Georgia. Atlanta dominates because it is home to major corporate headquarters and regional offices across manufacturing, distribution, and industrial services, while Savannah's growing port-driven logistics and manufacturing base and Augusta's industrial corridor each generate steady demand for experienced sales leadership in their surrounding markets.
Are there remote industrial sales manager jobs in Georgia?
Yes, but they're rare. About 60% of industrial sales manager openings tied to Georgia are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, reflecting how much the role depends on in-person client visits, plant walkthroughs, and hands-on product demonstrations. The parts of the role most likely to be handled remotely are pipeline reporting, virtual check-ins with customers, and internal planning calls with regional leadership.
How can I get hired as a industrial sales manager in Georgia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is landing an inside sales or territory representative role at a Georgia industrial distributor or manufacturer, then building toward management from within. Companies like Genuine Parts Company and Veritiv, both headquartered in Atlanta, run structured sales development programs that bring in candidates without deep experience. Lateral moves from field applications engineering or customer service roles in manufacturing also open the door, and completing an industrial distribution certificate through Georgia Tech's Professional Education division gives candidates a concrete credential that Georgia employers recognize.
